Candle Care
Proper candle care is important for ensuring optimal performance, safety, and longevity of your candles.
Here are some essential tips for candle care:

First Burn: When you light a new candle for the first time, allow it to burn until the wax pool reaches the edges of the container. This process, known as a "memory burn," helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn throughout the life of the candle.

Trimming the Wick: Before each burn, trim the wick to about ¼ inch (0.6 cm) in length. Trimming the wick helps control the flame height, prevents excessive soot, and ensures a cleaner and more even burn. Use a wick trimmer or scissors specifically designed for candle wicks.

Avoid Drafts: Place candles in a draft-free area to prevent uneven burning and flickering. Air drafts can disturb the flame and cause the candle to burn unevenly or produce excessive smoke.

Burn Time: It's recommended to burn candles for no longer than 4 hours at a time. Burning candles for extended periods can cause excessive heat and reduce the overall lifespan of the candle.

Extinguishing Safely: To extinguish a candle, use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Avoid blowing directly onto the candle to prevent hot wax from splattering. This helps minimize smoke and ensures a safer extinguishing process.

Avoid Moving Candles: Allow the wax to cool and solidify before moving a candle. Hot wax can spill or splash, causing burns or damage. Always handle candles with care and avoid moving them while they are lit, or the wax is still liquid.

Candle Placement: Place candles on heat-resistant surfaces, away from flammable materials, and out of reach of children and pets. Keep candles at least 3 inches (7.6 cm) apart from each other to prevent uneven burning and potential fire hazards.

Candle Storage: Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Excessive heat can cause the wax to soften or warp, while sunlight can fade the color and scent of the candle.

Candle Container Care: If you're using candles in containers, ensure the container is clean and free from debris or wick trimmings before each use. This helps prevent any unwanted combustion or damage to the container.

Scented Candle Precautions: If you're burning scented candles, be mindful of any potential allergies or sensitivities. Some individuals may be sensitive to certain fragrances. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.
